Who we survey for

If you run a business or work a farm in Scotland, your energy bills are likely one of your biggest overheads. We arrange surveys for a range of commercial properties — from small business premises to working farms and self-catering holiday lets. Every survey is tailored to your buildings, your usage and your goals.

Business premises

Offices, workshops, retail units and other commercial premises with daytime electricity use that pairs well with solar generation.

Farms

Large farm roofs are ideal for solar panels. We survey your buildings and assess generation, battery storage and grid export potential.

Holiday lets

Self-catering properties with high guest usage. Solar and battery storage can cut energy costs across the letting season.

Rural businesses

Rural and off-grid businesses where grid capacity is limited. Battery storage can help manage demand and reduce peak-time costs.

What a commercial survey covers

A commercial survey is more involved than a domestic one. We assess your roof or available land, your electricity usage pattern (including any half-hourly data), your existing heating, and whether battery storage would help. For farms, we look at multiple buildings and prioritise where generation will have the biggest impact. For holiday lets, we consider occupancy patterns and seasonal demand.

  • Roof or land area, orientation and structural suitability
  • Electricity usage and tariff, including any half-hourly data
  • Battery storage sizing based on your usage and generation
  • Grid export potential and any DNO notification requirements
  • Heating assessment if you are also considering a heat pump

Frequently asked questions

Do you arrange surveys for businesses as well as homes?

Yes. We arrange no-obligation surveys for Scottish businesses, farms, rural businesses and holiday lets that want to reduce their energy costs with solar panels, battery storage or new heating. The same interest-free credit up to £30,000 is available, subject to status. Terms and conditions apply.

Can holiday lets benefit from solar panels and battery storage?

Yes. Holiday lets often have high electricity use for heating, hot water and laundry. Solar panels generate during daylight hours when guests may be out, and a battery stores that energy for evening use. A survey assesses your roof, usage pattern and whether battery storage makes sense for your let.

What about farms and rural businesses?

Farms and rural businesses often have large roofs suitable for solar panels, and high daytime electricity use that pairs well with solar generation. Battery storage can also help where grid capacity is limited. We survey your buildings and assess what works for your operation.

Is the interest-free credit available for commercial installations?

Yes. Interest-free credit up to £30,000 is available for qualifying business and farm installations, subject to status and affordability. Finance details are provided with your quote so you can decide whether it suits your business. Terms and conditions apply.
